About

I’m a product designer and design leader with over 15 years of experience, working across different industries, teams, and stages of product development. I care deeply about the craft of design, from understanding problems and exploring ideas to shaping the details of a finished product. I believe good design comes from asking the right questions, making thoughtful decisions, and staying close to the work itself.

I believe leadership is about creating the conditions for people to do their best work, whether through design, mentorship, or collaboration. That means building trust, encouraging honest conversations, challenging ideas, and giving people the space to grow. I enjoy making things as much as helping others make them, and I see good design as a collective effort built on curiosity, craft, and care.

Experience

Jul 2022 – now

Yoco

Product Design Manager

I lead the redesign and evolution of the Yoco app — onboarding, activation and merchant growth — and the Marketplace experiences behind integrations and partnerships, working with product, engineering and leadership to set direction.

I manage and mentor product designers while staying hands-on with strategy, prototyping and zero-to-one work. I introduced design jams and governance so teams collaborate before the decisions harden.

I lead the evolution of Yoco’s design system, designed the Developer Console in one week using AI-assisted workflows, and created the Conceptual Model Kit and PRD Kit to take ambiguity out of a brief before it reaches a screen.

Nov 2021 – Jul 2022

Qapital

Director of UX

Led the horizontal experiences — Dream Team, Payday Divvy — and owned the shape of the overall user journey.

Helped product managers prioritise design effort, and built the rituals, principles and processes the design team ran on.

Mar 2020 – Oct 2021

Uber

Senior Product Designer

Safety first, keeping everyone who uses the platform safe and sound, then Product Foundations — the shared pieces that let other teams build faster and more integrated features.

Then the Money team, from gift card experiences through to payments solutions.

May 2017 – Mar 2020

Nubank

Senior to Staff Product Designer

Credit card first: solutions that helped people manage their credit, and the MVP for the Mexico credit card app — international expansion’s first product.

Then Lending, where I designed the personal loans product from scratch, user research to hand-off, and kept working on it after launch. Then the personal account team, making peer-to-peer transactions easier and more social.

Alongside all of it I led the first iteration of Nubank’s design system — components, icons, documentation. It started as a side-project and ended as a team.

Apr 2014 – May 2017

Har.com

Product Designer

iOS and Android apps and Pro tools for Texas real estate agents. Navigation and screens for native and web, and prototypes — for testing, and for having a straight conversation with developers.

Dec 2012 – Apr 2014

Ativa Corretora

Designer

Six months on the communications team of an established broker, doing print and digital campaigns. Then a transfer to IT, where I took over user experience and interface design for the company’s own systems.

Oct 2011 – Sep 2012

Vale S/A

Interaction Designer

Navigation, interaction and visual design for the Oil & Gas internal products. Still the best team I’ve been part of: a controlled environment let us build on things that wouldn’t be used widely for years, and working lean meant an assumption could be tested and answered inside a week.

May 2011 – Oct 2011

Camisa 10

Intern

Helping art directors with print and digital campaigns at an advertising agency, and learning how a creative process runs and how a story gets told.

Oct 2010 – Apr 2011

Logomotiva

Intern

My first digital design work — helping other designers with web pages, icons and illustrations. This is where I fell for it.

Mar 2010 – Oct 2010

Mister Pizza

Intern

My first internship, in the in-house graphic studio of a pizza franchise. Menus, banners and every sort of printed piece — a lot of print production learned by doing, and some of it still in use.
